I hope everyone had a safe and as memorable as possible Arizona Beer Week. Thanks to everyone who volunteered at the Strong Beer Festival and attended the Hungry Monk for Hot Scotchy Night and Brewers Connection for the annual “Beer Week Ends When We Say It Ends Brewout.”
Rob Wolinski has more to say about the brewout, so I will keep it brief except to thank Jeffrey Haines for his hospitality and to remind everyone that Brewers Connection will be hosting our next General Meeting on Brewing with a Conical Fermenter on Tuesday, Mar. 21.
Support your Local Homebrew Shop
Of course, this is not meant to be an endorsement of just one business at the expense of the rest. All of our local homebrew shops support the club in different ways, in the form of discounts or competition drop-off locations or simply serving as a knowledge base. Therefore, it is important to support them right back, even when you might be able to save a buck or two online. Without the backbone of these local homebrew shops, Arizona brewing would not be where it is today, from homebrewing on up to the professional level.
I also hope that everyone has been taking advantage of the cool weather and our relaxed February club schedule to throw down your best recipes for the upcoming competitions or to brew up entirely new or experimental ones to learn new skills and share with the group. I expect to taste some great things at the March meeting, so fire up those burners!
