Radegast or Bust: How you can help ASH win the Club of the Year Award

NHC-2016-ASH-groupLast year, ASH was less than one point away from winning the Radegast Club of the Year Award at the National Homebrewers Conference in San Diego.

This year, we need your help to wow the judges and prove just how awesome we are at using the homebrew craft to make Arizona and our local community a better place.

You can help the club with this year’s Radegast entry in two ways:

  1. Record a short video at the Mar. 15 general meeting. If you like the easy way, this option is for you. Attend the general meeting, wear a clean shirt, and step in front of the camera to record a 30- to 60-second video clip telling your story about how ASH has made you a better homebrewer.
  2. Submit a homebrew photo and write about your ASH experience in 250 words or less. If you’d rather pen your story, write about how being an ASH member has elevated your homebrewing awesomeness. Email your homebrew photo and story to [email protected]. Submissions must be received no later than Mar. 25.

To craft your story, here are some ideas to get you thinking:

  • In what ways has ASH helped you become a better brewer?
  • What’s your favorite thing about being an ASH member?
  • What advice would you give new members about getting the most out of their ASH membership?
  • What differentiates ASH from other homebrew clubs?

Depending on the number of stories received, we may not use all of them for the entry. However, with your permission, we may feature your stories in upcoming HOT Break newsletters.

About the Radegast Club of the Year Award.

The American Association of Homebrewers (AHA) established the Radegast Club of the Year Award in 2014 to recognize the top homebrew clubs around the country. The award is based on philanthropy, homebrew promotion, education initiatives and diversity efforts. The winning organization receives $500 for the club and $500 for the charity of its choice.

The 2016 National Homebrewers Conference, now known as Homebrew Con, will take place June 9-11 in Baltimore, Maryland. The Radegast Club of the Year will be announced during the conference banquet on June 11.
