Kolsch Kup

In remembrance of longtime ASH member Mark Helm’s passing we hold the Annual Kölsch Kup homebrew competition for the best Kölsch during our Springfest gathering. The 6th Annual Kölsch Kup will be held at Springfest on March 2, 2013. As in years past the Kölsch Kup will be judged from the entries presented at Springfest.

*** THIS COMPETITION IS FOR ASH MEMBERS ONLY ***
Membership is required to attend ASH Springfest.
Memberships can be purchased on the ASH Website. They must be purchased before Springfest. No onsite membership registration is available.

PRIZES:
In addition to the Kaptain’s Kup award, Four Peaks Brewing Company has graciously offered this year’s Kolsch Kup grand prize. The winner will have the opportunity to help brew Four Peaks award-winning Kölsch Sunbru with lead brewer Jim Roper. Jim gave an informative presentation on brewing Kölsch style ales during the January meeting

REGISTRATION:
When you arrive to Springfest please find Matt Brown or Krystal Bittner to register and receive your entry label.

ENTRY DEADLINE:
All entries must be registered in person by noon on Saturday, March 2nd at Springfest. Please submit your entries in a keg or non-glass container. Glass bottles are prohibited at Kiwanis park.

JUDGING AND AWARDS:
Judging will be held after noon and the winner will be announced before 4pm

REMINDER:
The March HBOY category is light hybrid which includes Kölsch. Plan to save one bottle for entry at the March general meeting.

DON’T FORGET:
Glass bottles are prohibited at Kiwanis park. Please submit your entries in a keg or non-glass container. Entries in glass bottles will not be accepted.

Please post a comment on the Kolsch Kup Page on the ASH Website if you are planning to enter a Kölsch at Springfest. This will allow competition organizers to plan accordingly.
