Springfest

The 2008 ASH Springfest is behind us. The members that showed up had an excellent time with outstanding weather and a plethora of fine beers to sample. Thanks go to Barry Tingleff for reserving the location at the Lakes Beach & Tennis Club. And a special thanks to the Arizona Barbeque Club for supplying and cooking a fine spread of BBQ and fixings! If you missed the event, plan to attend next year. You missed a great time!
Prizes were awarded to the brewers in the following categories :
- Best Dressed - Dan Teff for his pseudo Mexican keg
- Best Named - Jeff Brahs for his 'Busted Cherry Wheat'
- Best Beer Overall - Barry Tingleff for one of his quality Meads
Congratulations to Stevo for winning the inaugural 'Kaptin's Kup' Kölsch contest! The 'Kaptin's Kup' award was given to the brewer who produces the best Kölsch in honor of the passing of longtime ASH member Mark Helms. Kölsch was Mark Helms's favorite beer style. This will be an annual prize.
