Big Brew
From ASH
Organized by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA), BIG BREW celebrates National Homebrew Day, honored each year on the first Saturday of May. BIG BREW brings together thousands of homebrewers from around the world, all brewing the same beers simultaneously – on average over 3,000 homebrewers from North America, Europe, Africa, Asia, South America and Australia participate. As a homebrewing organization ASH registers an official site to host a brewout to honor this occasion.

The ASH 'BIG BREW' Brewout was a huge success. At least for the five brewers, family and friends that turned out at Dale Roth's T-Shirt Shop in Tempe to witness the birth of some world class beers! Michael Wiley, Ben Conner, Chris Panichas, Michael HeerBrandt and host Dale Roth produced approx. 35 gallons of pale ale, hefe and English bitter under a blazing May sun. There were plenty of burgers, dogs, brats and snacks to go with some excellent homebrews and some special commercial picks provided by the attendees.
A special round of thanks go to Dale Roth for hosting the event and providing the facility and amenities necessary for some serious beer production! For those that could not make it, get your brewing systems tuned up and make plans to attend the 2009 'BIG BREW' Brewout!
